depois de atualizar o win 8,1 o i.e. 11 está estranho

quando sempre o i.e. 11 é iniciado, aparece uma mensagem: que tal página requer npctrl.dll e embora pela insistência já a tenha dado...  a solicitação persiste, e tem sido algo desagradável mesmo.
então agradeceria se alguém tiver uma ideia, ok?
obs.:  não achei nada no site da m$.
