Meu HD Externo não copia e nem apaga mais os arquivos. O que eu faço?

Tenho um HD Externo Portátil Samsung de 1TB ...
Mais agora não consigo mais enviar ou apagar os arquivos ( mesmo os que eu já tinha copiado pro HD ) ...
Eu já apaguei todos os arquivos e desconectei o HD do computador , mais quando conecto de novo todos os arquivos continuam lá.
Estou tentando formatar mais demora muito ... Tentei também a formatação rápida mais dá erro!
Será que meu HD está danificado?
Qual outra opção eu tenho???
