O que você acha da Google exigir número de telefone para confirmar cadastro via SMS?

Muitas pessoas não tem celular para confirmar cadastro na Google, ou até tem, mas já passaram do número limite de contas cadastradas e assim não podem criar novas contas no serviço, a não ser que utilizem o celular de outra pessoa. Mas mesmo utilizando o celular de outra pessoa, o número dessa pessoa também será afetado por essa política da Google, caso ela também queira fazer outras contas no serviço. Não seria melhor se a Google enviasse um link de confirmação através do e-mail alternativo que a pessoa coloca durante o cadastro ou até mesmo pelo próprio Gmail depois de ter sido feito?
