diferenças entre windows e linux

sempre usei windows mas tenho uma curiosidade de experimentar o tal do linux. eu gosto muito de games e ouvir dizer que ele é rapido. minha duvida é se ele não dá problema com placa de video, se os games rodam melhor que no windows, se ele é mais rapido realmente pra jogos, se ele é facil de mexer e instalar as coisas sem conflitos como tinha no windows vista de perguntar tudo inves de instalar de uma vez. basicamente quero saber bem e ficar bem informado pois não piso onde não tenho confiança. uns dizem que é rapido outros dizem que é muito ruim pra games e que depende de varios outros programas pra rodar games enquanto no windows é so clicar duas vezes que o jogo começa. quero tirar minhas duvidas meu notebook e desktop são games quero desempenho bom. navegar na internet ate de celular eu faço.
