COACH CHO SEONG-HWAN: “I HOPE INCHEON WILL WIN THE YOUNG PLAYER AWARD, BECOME THE TOP SCORER AND BE SELECTED AS ONE OF THE BEST 11 PLAYERS”
“If the home crowd reaches 10,000 people, I will think about a surprise event after the season.”
“I will not be arrogant like a rabbit… I will take one step at a time toward my goal.”
“I hope the Young Player Award, Top Scorer, and Best 11 will all come out in Incheon.”
Cho Seong-hwan, coach of professional soccer K-League 1 Incheon United, met with reporters prior to the 2024 season inauguration ceremony held at the Incheon Global Campus auditorium on the 25th and said, “The Manager Award is water.
“I think I’ve passed over,” he said with a smile, expressing his hope for his students to win titles.
Coach Cho Sung-hwan said, “It’s already my 10th year as a coach, and I think the players will work hard and do well this season as well,” and especially looked forward to the performance of U-22 players Choi Woo-jin (20) and Park Seung-ho (21).
Coach Cho was also worried that Choi Woo-jin seemed to have fallen into the second-year jinx.
He said, “At first, I didn't know much about it and took on the challenge with passion, but these days, I think I'm finding soccer difficult as well.
Although he was concerned that it could be a second-year jinx, he added, “The offensive options are quite good.
He expressed his affection, saying, “If I improve my positioning ability and gain experience, I think I have the skills to be a good resource not only for Incheon's future but also for the A team.”
He also said, “I hope that many of Incheon's players will join the Olympic team or the A team.
“Individual development is ultimately the development of Incheon,” he said.
“Their void can be filled with good-willed competition from other players.”
Coach Cho Seung-hwan set a goal of averaging 10,000 spectators with the ambition to enter Final A for the third consecutive year and stand tall as one of the Big Four along with Ulsan HD, Jeonbuk Hyundai, and Pohang Steelers.
