Lee Soo-kwang Takes Office as New KBL Commissioner… “I will Carry Out 'Fan-First' Administration”

The new KBL Commissioner Lee Soo-kwang (80), who will lead the administration of professional basketball for the next three years, emphasized that he will “hold the spirit of ‘Fan First’ as the highest value.”
Commissioner Lee Soo-kwang, who was elected as the 11th head of the professional basketball league KBL, said at the inauguration ceremony held at the KBL Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 1st, “The flower of professional sports is the fans.”

However, Commissioner Lee said, “There is still a long way to go.
Now that we have overcome many difficulties and are making a new start, it is an important time for our professional basketball to take another leap forward,” expressing his will not to rest on his laurels.
He also emphasized that he would implement a fan-centered administration.
President Lee said, “Players gain strength from fan support, and the team exists,” and “I will do my best to ensure that the fans’ fandom does not fade away and that professional basketball becomes a festival for fans.”
He continued, “I will actively cooperate with the team to make the basketball court a fun and happy place through various fan services.
He said, “We will further activate the integrated marketing platform and expand contact with basketball fans by utilizing new media.”

A former professional manager, Chairman Lee served as CEO of Dongbu Insurance and Dongbu Construction, and has been an auditor at the Kim Jun-ki Cultural Foundation since February of this year.
The president emphasized, “I have experience working in various business fields,” and “I will use this as a basis to devote all my capabilities to the development of professional basketball.”
Since 2018, the KBL has had 10 teams taking turns as president.
